The Future of .com

Some of you may have heard GoDaddy, the largest domain registration service, was testing .co for a while. Recently the testing ended and GoDaddy moved back to .com. Our question, is this an indication of major changes in the .com industry? Anyone who doesn’t own their perfect domain name would be thrilled if there was a switch away from .com. Almost all the popular .com’s have been bought up leaving new businesses struggling to find names and ulrs that are available without being duds.

Recently we came across this great YouTube video by AusRegistry which discusses the movement away from .com and suggests brands will soon be able to have custom domain names like, .canon or which would look like my.canonĀ  Take a few minutes to watch the presentation and let us know what you think.
